My kids and I had the pleasure of reviewing the Kung Zhu toys. The makers of the 2010 ?Toy of the Year,? Zhu Zhu Pets, reveal a one-of-a-kind line of action-figures, Kung Zhu battle hamsters.  We had so much fun playing with them. My 2 year old love hearing them speak and watching them move. Who would of thought that these hamsters would have been such a hit in my household.

              My son also liked the way they felt, they were sort of therapeutic for him since he has Sensory Processing Disorder, he also has PDD-NOS which is a type of autism. I thought he would be scared of them at first, but he was not he actually embraced them. My other 3 kids also enjoyed playing with them. What they liked about the Kung Zhu toys was that there were a lot of accessories that can be added to them. Although this is geared more towards boys, my 2 daughters didn?t mind messing around with them to see how they worked and what they can do.

I embrace any toy that is fun and does not show a lot of violence and I feel these toys will give any kid hours a fun. The concept is unique I think, if your child ever wanted a hamster, well here is their chance to get one with out all of the mess and responsibility of a real one. They are not expensive either, making them very affordable. Here is some background information on the Kung Zhu toys.

The Kung Zhu Characters

Within the Special Forces and Ninja Warriors, there are clans, each with two hamsters sharing a symbol of allegiance on their backs. Each hamster has its own unique features that provide insight into each individual personality.

How Do You Kung Zhu??

Kung Zhu hamsters start out as mild-mannered pets that dart around, scurry from place to place, and coo and squeak based on the unique environment they encounter. However, they transform into battle-ready warriors once they are properly ?trained.? Simply swipe them across the Tablet or Zhu, and watch in amazement as an entirely new set of skills and sounds are unlocked. Just snap on armor and they?re ready to go to the battle arena to test themselves against worthy opponents! While the winners bask in the glow of victory, the defeated must re-acquire their skills through another round of training.

Fur-ocious Kung Zhu? Technology

The innovative technology that makes Kung Zhu so diverse and unique is a coding system that tells the hamsters where they are in the tracks of training grounds and battle arena. The configuration of the tracks in the playset allows the intelligent warriors to properly navigate sections of the track to lead them to the battle arena for some ultimate Kung-Zhu fighting.

Accessories such as a battle arena, battle armor, vehicles and training areas, room, traps and more are available to bring the action to life and create a custom hamster habitat.
