Online Video Conferencing
By allkinds on Feb 25, 2012 | In Business
One of the many perks of working from home is being able to hold meetings from your dinning room table or from any room in your home for that matter. The Internet allows this happen day in and day out all across the world. There are many ways to hold a meeting online you do it via instant chat, phone conference and online video conferencing. There are many companies offering this for either free or for a fee, depending on the usage. Some of these companies include Skype, OOVOO, Go To Meetings and more. I have personally used some of them since I have clients all over the world and sometimes I can't meet with them in person. So video or online chat has been the best option. Many cell phones have this built in feature as well because so many people are doing this now, heck the Ipod Touch 4th generation and Ipad 2 have face time. Now of course some companies and devices are better then others. It all depends on what your needs are while you are having a conference, if you plan to share computer screens or files then a mobile phone or an Ipod Touch may not be the best option. If you are looking to just talk to friends and family that are far away then your phone can be a good option. Also some companies only allow you to use their software for personal use only. So if you are looking into video conferencing or chat for business purposes make sure you read the terms and conditions for each company you research.
Housing for seniors
By allkinds on Feb 21, 2012 | In misc
I have an associate that is facing the tough choice of putting her parents in home. She was really not sure if she should do it. But at this point in her life she just can't take care of them. She has a family of her own, with small children and she has a busy career. So she was looking at her options and she was doing research on Housing for seniors. She saw some places were like a spa and it did not appear like a "senior home". Some where for more independent seniors and she saw some that made her depressed. She wants her parents to be in a good place and well taken care of. So I was trying to give a listening ear and maybe some advice. I know a lot people face this decision everyday, and I know it can't be easy. Have any of you been through this? Or are you going through now? What advice would you give? Share your stories.

You know I was looking for a step stool the other day, and I was amazed to see how many different kids of step stools are available. I mean there are step stools for adults, kids, kitchen, medical, folding, two step, flip, rolling, library, nursing, sports and more. I was lost when I was looking for one. I was just looking for a sturdy step stool. The prices I saw varied on the type of step stool you want and some can be pretty steep. In the end I didn't find the one I was looking for, so I guess I will keep looking.
Restaurant Loans
By allkinds on Feb 14, 2012 | In Business, Money
In my opinion one of the most expensive businesses to open is a restaurant. Especially if you are starting from scratch. You have buy or rent a building, remodel the building or decorate it to be how you want. You also have to buy supplies, tables, chairs etc... If you don't have all that money you can look into getting some restaurant loans. There are some companies that specialize in lending money for those people who want to start a restaurant or buy a franchise restaurant. One thing you do need to check is their terms and credit criteria in order to qualify. Make sure you read everything with a fine tooth comb. If there is something you don't understand ask questions and make sure you are comfortable with everything that is outlined in the loan.
