Lead test kits
By allkinds on Aug 3, 2010 | In Baby andToddler, Home and Garden
If you have a house or business that is built before 1978, the government states that your place must be certified lead free. You must also follow strict guidelines to prevent lead poisoning. Back in the days you had to hire someone to test your home for lead and it was very costly. Now you can purchase your own lead test kit and perform the test on your own. These tests allow you to know within a matter of minutes whether you have lead in your home or business. This something that everyone should do if you feel you may have lead. It truly is better to be safe than sorry as having lead poisoning especially in children, can lead to a host of health problems.
I love graphic designing
By allkinds on Jul 25, 2010 | In Baby andToddler, Business
One thing that I love to do most besides designing websites is designing graphics. I just finished working on some baby shower invitations for friend of mine. She was so happy with it and it made me feel good to make her happy. I have always loved the whole graphics thing, its just something about it that has always caught my eye, its really hard to explain. That is why I love designing t-shirts and stuff. So much so that I would continue to design t-shirts even if its not for me, that is how much I love graphics design. I did a project a couple of years ago where I came up with 15 designs for someone to sell on one of those t-shirt making sites and it was a lot of fun to do.
Prenatal Vitamins
By allkinds on May 10, 2010 | In Baby andToddler, Fitness and Health
I was talking about prenatal vitamins on my other blog and how they benefit both the mom and baby. I have learned that prenatal vitamins are specially formulated multivitamins, and this is to help make up any absence in the nutrition that the mom may have in her diet. This vitamin always has Folic Acid which can reduce your risk of having a baby with a serious birth defect of the brain and spinal cord, called the ‘neural tube. One of the most common neural tube defects is spina bifida; a baby is born with a spine that is not closed. The exposed nerves are damaged, leaving the child with varying degrees of paralysis, incontinence, and sometimes mental retardation. To lessen the risk of these defects doctors advice women to make sure they get Folic Acid in their diets.

I found a website called Preppy Parents, this website offers information on parent-selected products and gear for babies and toddlers. Besides that you can read reviews on the products they available and buy them straight off of the site. For example you can read reviews on all the baby strollers they have listed, and buy it right then and there. Right now any orders that total $49 or more gets free shipping. So if you are looking for any baby or toddler gear now maybe a good time to buy!
Birth Announcements
By allkinds on Apr 14, 2010 | In Baby andToddler, Gifts,Handmade and Personalized
While we were looking for cute ideas for my daughter’s party next month I saw some really cute birth announcements and I thought about how if I was not doing a luau theme it would have been really cute to do a party invitation using a picture of her as baby sort of like a birth announcement but turned into a party invitation, if that even makes sense. Well I am pretty sure she would not want it and she would say “mom are you crazy”? I don’t want that on my invites, teenagers you know how they can get some times. It's hard sometimes to see our kids grow up and let go. But we all have to let go and let them grow up and flourish.
Sad story
By allkinds on Mar 26, 2010 | In Baby andToddler, Money
I was reading an article about how a couple that was struggling to pay bills dropped their life insurance policy because they could not afford the premiums. About 3 months after they did that, the husband passed away from a car wreck and she had no money to pay for a funeral or was left with any money to pay bills. Had they had kept the insurance she would of received a check for almost 300,000. That just broke my heart to think that not only did she lose her husband she was left broke in the process. My husband and I spoke about this and we decided to make sure we keep the insurance, because you just never know what can happen. I don’t even want to imagine being in that women’s shoes. I think in the article they had mentioned they had kids too. I mean that is just too sad, I feel the best thing to do is lower the amount if you can’t afford the premiums but don’t drop it, because again you just never know and no one is guaranteed tomorrow.
Have you had your colon checked?
By allkinds on Mar 17, 2010 | In Baby andToddler
They that when you reach a certain age you should get your colon checked to make sure it is free of cancer. I had a friend of mine who was preparing herself for the colon examine. She was not looking forward to it as there are a lot of things you need to do to prepare for this test. One main thing you have to make sure your colon is flushed and clean. You can to take various medications and drink certain liquids. Also you are then put on a liquid diet as well. She was telling me about a product she heard called Colon Cleanse and she was reading colon cleanse reviews, she was thinking about buying it to help keep her colon clean. I told her she better speak with her doctor, as I know they don’t want you on certain things when you have to do this test and further more, she needed to make sure it was safe for her to take.
Although the test maybe time consuming and uncomfortable everyone should have their colons checked when their doctors recommend it. It could be a matter of life and death!
