Bizzy Lizzy Bakery

Sheila Rae owner of Bizzy Lizzy Bakery sent me 4 No Flour Hearty Cookies. The cookies were a big hit in my home and did not last 5 minutes. Each cookie was indeed hearty and had a lot of flavor and were very filling. My kids are pretty picky eaters and they had no problems eating these. My husband also enjoyed trying the cookie as well.
Sheila states "The reason they are made the way they are is to help individuals get more fiber in their diet but with a great flavor. With 80% of teens having digestive problems and 60% of women with the same problems I figured they had to be something I could do to help the problem - the inventions of this cookie."
According to the Bizzy Lizzy website, the benefits of eating Bizzy Lizzy cookies are:
No Flour
Raisins provide the benefits of iron and fiber
Oat bran contains B-complex, protein, fat, minerals and fiber
Flax seed provides omega 3
Peanut Butter is a good source of protein, bioflavonoid, niacin and fiber.
Sheila is a Home Economist, Nutritionalist, and educator. All of her products are made in small batches which insures that you will receive a fresh product.
I thought the packaging of the product was really cute, and all the cookies arrived intact. As soon as I opened the package, my kids got excited when they saw it was cookies. The smell was great, but I honestly thought my kids would not eat it. Boy was I wrong, they loved and left me a small piece to try.
You can find a variety of different flavors on her website which is located at www.bizzylizzybakery.com
You can purchase a 12 pack of Hearty Breakfast cookies which includes 4 Oatmeal Raisin, 4 oatmeal and 4 Chocolate Chip, for $16.95. You can also buy sample packs of different varieties as well as packs of one variety.

New York Style -Garlic Bagel Crisps and Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks
By allkinds on Apr 20, 2010 | In Cooking, Food and Drink

Did you know that yesterday April 19th was national garlic day? Wow what a day, I love garlic it just gives a great taste to almost any type of food. In honor of this great day New York Style sent me some samples of their products to taste. I was sent a sample bag of Garlic Bagel Crisps, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic Risotto Chips, Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks and Garlic Pita Chips.
My family and I have tried the Garlic Bagel Crisps and Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks so far. Out of the 2 my favorite is the Garlic Bagel Crisps I loved the taste and the crunch of the bagel my middle daughter agreed with me; I just wanted to continue to eat it and not stop. My oldest son loves the Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks although he did like the bagel crisps as well. My oldest daughter thought both products had too much of a harsh taste although you may want to take that with a grain of salt as she is a picky eater. My husband liked both as well.
The Garlic Bagel Crisps were very good and you can add them to salads and they are good enough to eat on its own. The only thing that I was not crazy about was the fact the bagels were not whole, some of the bagels were broken up and some were even crushed into dust. So when you look at the bag and see whole bagels and then up the bag and see most of them broken up it was very disappointing. It may be possible that the bag came that way in shipping. But for me that was a major flaw, we also noticed that with Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks, although they were not as bad as the bagels.
Roasted Garlic & Herb Focaccia Sticks are great for those who love a strong flavor; I would have to agree with my oldest daughter that it was too strong for me. I am a big garlic fan but I like the taste to be smooth.
We still have to try Parmesan & Roasted Garlic Risotto Chips and Garlic Pita Chips. I am looking forward to trying them as well.
Coffee Cozie's

If you are looking for a cute unique and functional gift check out Coffee Cozy Café. Coffee Cozy Café sells handmade re-usable coffee sleeves. I received 2 to review and it was really interesting to see. The sleeves are handmade crocheted coffee cozies that fit most 12oz., 16oz. or 20oz cups.
The sleeves are environmentally friendly as these sleeves can be used over and over again instead of wasting napkins, cardboard rings or other cups to keep your hands cool from the hot coffee or tea. You can also use them with cold drinks as well, I tried it and it kept my hands from feeling cold (I had placed a cup in the freezer). My kids thought it was cool to use while drinking their hot chocolate.
They have many styles from you to choose from some are even one of kind. The price of the sleeves starts at just $5 and goes up. The price includes shipping and tax, which is a really good deal. If you are interested in finding out more or to place an order visit their website located http://www.coffeecozycafe.com
Risotto Chips
By allkinds on Feb 24, 2010 | In Cooking, Food and Drink

Have you tried the new Risotto chips from New York Style? Well my family and I had that opportunity, when we were shipped samples of the chips to try. We received Spicy Marinara, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic and Sea Salt.
We tried the chips during super bowl Sunday and it was a hit, my husband loved them all and he couldn’t decide which one he liked my best. My kids and I thought the Parmesan & Roasted Garlic was good. These are great to use with dip, if you like sour cream then you would like dipping these in sour cream.
Each serving offers 11 grams of whole grains, which provides 13% of the recommended daily allowance. The snacks are also gluten free which is great for those with allergies. Risotto chips are made with whole-grain brown rice, Arborio rice flour, whole-grain corn flour and sesame seeds. They are also lightly seasoned with natural herbs and spices.
You can find the chips in your local supermarket and it comes in 5oz. bags. One thing to mention about these chips that not only can you eat them alone you can also eat them with sandwiches, my hubby did this, and he also ate it with his soup.

Coupon Queen Strikes Again!
By allkinds on Jul 30, 2009 | In Cooking, Food and Drink
My kids call me the coupon queen because I am always searching for coupons and printing them out. This past month when I went grocery shopping I saved almost $30 off of my bill. Everyone who knows me, know I am always looking for a good deal on everything and I can use a coupon I will. There is no shame in my game focus. And you shouldn’t be a shamed also; hey if you can put some money back in your pocket you should be shouting out for joy. I have a few places online that I like to look and see if they are any good deals happening one place is Amazon.com it great to compare prices and see what seller has the best price for what I am looking for. I love it when I can find an Amazon.com coupon sometimes they can be hard to find though, so you really have to search.
But they are out there so don’t give up, one way to make sure you receive coupons from your favorite stores is to sign up for their newsletters to receive their specials. Also there are a lot of coupon sites out there and they also can send you specials via email, or you can print coupon right from their website. Stayed tuned for more information on how you can save with coupons.
Smartshopper
By allkinds on Dec 16, 2008 | In Cooking, Food and Drink

Everyone does grocery shopping and most of us walk around with lists written on paper with what we need from the grocery store. Sometimes that can be a pain if you wrote something down and you are not sure what you wrote, or if you need to remember that you have a coupon for that item.
I really didn’t think there was a better way, that all changed when I tried the Smartshopper. The Smartshopper is a voice recognition grocery list organizer. You just push a button, say the name of the item you need to buy and it gets added to a list that you can print out and take with you to the store. The Smartshopper is programmed with over 2,500 items in its library, and you can even add stuff to the library if it’s not listed in the Smartshopper. The Smartshopper automatically organizes your list into categories and it also keeps track of errands. You can keep 2 separate lists at a time. This device’s internal thermal printer is ink free and it comes with 3 rolls of paper, a built in magnet so you can hang it on the refrigerator and it also has wall mounts (I have mine on the refrigerator), you also get a master list of the pre-loaded items.
I must say that love this device, but at first I was really frustrated, because I could not get it to list the items I wanted. I would say one thing and it would show me another. But after about a half hour I got it to recognize my voice. I took the list with me this past Friday and it was wonderful. I also have to mention that the Smartshopper also has the ability to flag coupons. Which means you can flag an item on your list that you have a coupon for. The Smartshopper will add a coupon icon next to the item.
Right now the Smartshopper is on sale for $79.99 and if you order now until the end of December you can have it shipped for free. Those of you who are interested in the Smartshopper can use the exclusive code HH28192 until December 31 to receive $5 off your order. YOU MUST ORDER BY DECEMBER 18TH TO GET IT IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

New York Style - Focaccia Sticks
By allkinds on Nov 3, 2008 | In Cooking, Food and Drink

My family and I had the opportunity to try some focaccia sticks from New York Style. They are a new product on the market. They are made from real focaccia bread at a traditional bakery in New York City. They are twice baked not fried which is a plus. They are available in Roasted Garlic & Herb, Rosemary & Sea Salt, and Quattro Formaggio (which has parmesan romano, cheddar and blue cheeses). We received all of the flavors each packaged in 5oz bags.
I must say what drew me to them first was the name of course being a New Yorker (born and raised New Yorker) and second was the packaging it made it look so inviting and yummy. After sampling all 3 flavors my kids and I picked the roasted garlic and herb as our favorite. My husband could not decide between the 3.
What I liked about the Focaccia sticks is the fact that you can eat them with so many different types of foods. We tried them with cheese, sour cream, salsa, marinara sauce, and by themselves. My husband tried them with soup and he really enjoyed it. You can also use them as croutons with your salad, maybe even try it with jelly or peanut butter. These are great as a snack food or use them for your guest at a party.
New York Style also offers other products such as Bagel Crisps, Pita Chips, Pretzel Flatz and Crispini flat breads. You can find these products as well as the focaccia sticks at your favorite local deli.
