I was reading an article about how a couple that was struggling to pay bills dropped their life insurance policy because they could not afford the premiums. About 3 months after they did that, the husband passed away from a car wreck and she had no money to pay for a funeral or was left with any money to pay bills. Had they had kept the insurance she would of received a check for almost 300,000. That just broke my heart to think that not only did she lose her husband she was left broke in the process. My husband and I spoke about this and we decided to make sure we keep the insurance, because you just never know what can happen. I don’t even want to imagine being in that women’s shoes. I think in the article they had mentioned they had kids too. I mean that is just too sad, I feel the best thing to do is lower the amount if you can’t afford the premiums but don’t drop it, because again you just never know and no one is guaranteed tomorrow.

I was looking for a calculator to add to a clients website when I came across a website that offered life insurance calculator. I found that to be unique, as I would have never thought you would need to use a calculator for life insurance. But upon further investigation of this calculator I realized that if you were in the market for this insurance you would have no way of knowing if you were getting a good deal or not. So I think it’s a really neat tool if you’re in the market for this type of insurance.
